Thank you for your interest in being part of the Caucus of Working Educators and the fight for public education in Philadelphia! As a member-driven organization, we encourage you to join Working Educators as a member or supporter. You don't have to be in the PFT to join-- we welcome all parents, education workers, and community allies to join as supporting members!

We want to hear from YOU: What are your skills, interests, and passions? What do you need from the union, and how can we work together to make it happen? After filling out this form, a WE member will follow up on how you best want to get involved.

Will you volunteer?

Building Point Person- Talk to your coworkers, spread information, and build your building network and power.

Social Media Action Team- Leverage social media tell the real story of Philly educators from our own perspective; help share stories and live-tweet events.

WE News & Blog- Help write, develop new ideas, and coordinate blog articles and weekly newsletter content.

Membership & Organizing- Reach out to new members, develop school chapters, strengthen internal connections, and build coalitions with other education advocates.

Political- Analyze and influence endorsements, local elections, and politics in general.

Research, Flyers, and Publications- Research and write flyers and reports that present key information in support of our mission to defend and transform public education.

Events, Social Time, & Fundraising- Plan events, support logistics, and develop new ideas for events and fundraisers.

Racial Justice- Develop and contribute to our work fighting structural racism at the individual, school, city, and national levels.

Opt Out Philly- Join parents, educators, and students in the growing opt out movement across the city!

Taking Back Professional Practices- Develop and contribute to our work for teachers to reclaim their professional development through PDs, citywide critical pedagogy committees, and any other ideas.

Housing, Wages, Gentrification, and Community Justice- Support and lead our work as educators fighting for vibrant communities and support existing struggles for affordable housing, sustainable development, and fair wages.

Environmental Justice- Join other WE members fighting for healthy environments in our schools, homes, and city.

Music and Arts- Are you an artist, dancer, or musician? Are you in a band? Help us instill our work with music and arts.

Preservice Teacher and Labor Education Campaign- Work with professors, grad students, and educators to teach and develop social justice unionism and support labor education.
